Welcome to our Nicaraguan blog! It is here you will be able to track and follow our journey as we partner with the Verbo church in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua.
We were commissioned by the leadership of Rolling Hills Community Church in Tualatin, OR where our mission is to learn to think and live like Jesus and to reproduce that in the lives of others. This trip is one of many ways we are striving to accomplish that goal.
This team is made up of a group of 32 individuals from all different backgrounds and ages who have been invited to serve for one week as we continue a long-term relationship between our two churches.
We were invited for the main purpose of training between 75-100 indigenous pastors on how to 1) read & study the Bible and 2) make disciples. Four of us will be facilitating the 3-day conference while the remaining 28 will be serving in a variety of capacities: cleaning, food preparation, cooking, construction, orphanage VBS, women's classes and a multiple of things we have not yet discovered.
We believe that the best way to reach the entire population of Nicaragua is through the people of Nicaragua, and we are honored to help support their efforts in accomplishing this giant undertaking.
The Apostle Paul summarized this well when he said,
"Prepare God’s people for the works of service,
so that the body of Christ may be built up."
We consider it a great privilege to be sent by so many of you who have made it possible for us to go. Please join with us as we journey into Central America. Your prayers are cherished and needed. We expect mighty things to happen because we serve a mighty God.
